In Times Like This...

In Times LIke This..

Every journey has a beginning and in times like this, there are certain things that we can’t afford to overlook. For every word of God, there is an amount of obedience and cooperation that is demanded from you for its fulfilment. As God’s words have gone forth to you this New Year to shine forth and take your destiny to a greater height,

God requires that you cooperate with Him in times like this… So in times like this there are certain things that you need to do which will make this beginning count; there is a path that you must follow so that you don’t fall off the radar of God’s plan and purpose. In times like this, there are certain decisions that you must take which will take you to the God expected end. There are certain price you must pay in order to get the prize; there are some relationships you must cut yourself from and new people you must meet. There are certain attitudes that you must turn against and many you must put on. Our God is a God of principles and He hates it when His people walk in darkness, therefore, in times like this, it is important that you walk according to the right pattern.

In times like this, you need to build an altar that evokes ‘pure’ and ‘right’ smoke unto the Lord. Not a strange fire. It is important you love God; let your relationship be love driven and live your life to love and live for God. (for more on this, ‘In the Beginning II’ on our blog on this site for details)

Today, we want to emphasize the place of waiting on God for directions and instructions. Psalm 32:8 ‘I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.’ God promises and we know He will always bring His word to pass for He is not a liar. However, we must seek Him, take that position that we can hear and receive instructions from Him daily. As your altar keep burning, God will connect and commune with you. King David did not joke with this because He knew that was the source of His certainty in life (read I Samuel 30)

I Samuel 30: 8 ‘… and David inquire of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” In this story, King David’s camp was raided by the Amalekites in Negev and Ziklag. David camp was in Ziklag at this point in time but he went to help the Philistines at the instance of Achish although David was rejected from helping them because they were afraid. When David saw the devastation in His camp, He had to ask of the Lord. Men that cultivate the habit of inquiring of the Lord before taking a step are those that will celebrate because God will order their steps aright. Like David, this set of people will pursue, overtake and recover all. However for such instruction to be productive, it is important you obey Him even when He gives instruction for obedience is a proof of our love for God. The place of obedience can’t be overemphasized (I Samuel 15:22-23). (to be continued tomorrow)
